When Society Ignores Trauma: Beyond the Shooting and the Distractions

Two children are gone. The headlines will fade. But the deeper wound—our disconnection from body, DNA, and God—remains unhealed.

Two children were murdered in a Minneapolis church this week. Do you even remember their names? Or has the engagement of a pop star already replaced it in your feed?

We live in a culture that scrolls right past trauma — not because it doesn’t matter, but because we’ve been programmed to numb ourselves to it. When something horrific happens, we get distracted by celebrity news, dopamine clicks, and easy outrage. We soothe ourselves with fluff while refusing to look at what really lies beneath.

This shooting is horrific on its own. But there is another thread no one wants to touch — the shooter’s own disconnection from self, from gender, from body. I’m not saying this explains everything. I am saying: we should dare to ask what society is doing when it rushes children and young adults into altering their bodies, when it refuses to even consider the layers of past trauma that may be playing out through them.

Trauma Doesn’t Vanish — It Fragments Us

Evolutionary astrology teaches us that the soul carries wounds across lifetimes. Abuse doesn’t end when the body dies; the patterns return until healed. Sometimes those patterns show up as dissociation: not feeling at home in your own skin, not feeling safe in your own gender, not even feeling like you belong here at all.

Our culture doesn’t pause to ask: Where does that pain come from?Instead, it offers a quick fix: pills, surgeries, new identities. Cut, block, and rearrange — as though mutilating the temple is the same thing as healing the soul.

Who Is This Serving?

It isn’t serving the individual. That’s obvious. Many are left more fractured, more depressed, more suicidal after the supposed “solution.” But it does serve someone.

  • It serves industries that profit from lifetime medical dependency.

  • It serves ideologies that thrive on confusion, fragmentation, and division.

  • It serves darker forces that know: when a human being is disconnected from their own body, their own DNA, their own God-source — they are easier to control, easier to harvest, easier to enslave.

This is not compassion. This is not freedom. This is programming.

The Bigger Picture

We are terrified of stillness. Of sitting with trauma instead of covering it. We are terrified to look at the possibility that birth itself is trauma, that abuse is woven into our collective history, that our ancestors passed down pain through their blood and bones. So instead, we run toward the distraction, the surgery, the mask.

But until we look at the wound, we cannot heal it. Until we recognize the sacredness of the body — the divine script encoded in our DNA — we will keep falling for the lie that freedom is found in disconnection.

My Challenge to You

Maybe you think this is “off-topic” when children are dead. But maybe it’s not. Because until we start asking why souls are fracturing at this level, why our culture rushes people to cut away their pain instead of feel and heal it, we will keep producing tragedies like this. Different faces, different headlines, same core wound.

Do not look away.

Do not get lost in the engagement rings and gossip.

Ask the deeper question: What if the real epidemic is our refusal to remember who we are, encoded in our very cells, designed to connect us to God?
